In the late hours of Sunday night’s legislative session, Minnesota lawmakers came together to pass a transformative hemp reform bill to allow for the sale of THC and CBD edibles throughout the state of Minnesota. The bill, which is now awaiting signature from Minnesota’s pro cannabis governor Tim Walz, will allow Minnesota adults older than 21 to legally buy THC edibles that are derived from hemp.
THC Edibles Legal in Minnesota
The new measure will allow for the sale of hemp derived THC edibles in the amount of 5 milligrams of THC per serving, with a maximum of 50 milligrams of THC per package. For those wondering, that is half the amount of THC that is allowed in states that have legalized adult use marijuana. What does this mean for consumers? In short, cannabis edibles are now legal in Minnesota.
“This is a monumental piece of legislation that will forever change Minnesota’s hemp and cannabis industry,” said Zach Rohr, Founder & CEO of Minny Grown. “For the first time ever Minnesota adults will be able to legally buy edible delta-9 THC products like gummies, chocolates, drinks and more.” Said Rohr.
